Wow! I never thought that I would initiate a thread that would wind up with 45 posts. The depth and understanding of overdrives by the people here amazes me.
The need and desire for an overdrive for our trucks is apparent. I immediately feel the pressure to make good on my ramblings to document my OD conversion. That's probably a good thing - otherwise it may never get done.
It also occurs to me that perhaps I could build parts such as block off plates, cross members, brackets and etc. I have no idea of the probability of that happening,however.
I feel compelled to say something about this site and the people on it. First off, I love that this site is so casual. You don't have to sign up, or sign in. There is none of "You may NOT" this, or you can't do that.
It probably wouldn't work with this crowd anyway. And there's no lists of all the trucks I have or of all the dodads I have added to them. And, as an added plus, there's none of those silly faces jumping around or winking and blinking at me!
But the most important thing is the way everyone is welcomed, especially someone who stumbles in and says, perhaps, "I just bought a truck and can I ask a question here and will anyone answer me?" That person is immediately welcomed with friendship and offers of help.
So, thank you all for your kind words and well wishes last week. I'll stay in touch, and always be lurking. Best regards to all my good friends that I've never met.
