You don't need a muffler, since your exhaust is routed into the turbocharger, which muffles the sound. If you live in a jurisdiction which is really tight on sound levels (like, for instance, The Vatican), you might want to keep the muffler.

And if you're running an exhaust brake, many places require a muffler.
