I just bought a 20 pound pressurized sand blaster from Harbor Freight, lists at $60 but they are on sale right now for $45. HOLY COW! This made short work of my passenger side front brake backing plate and my brake drum. Took about 20 minutes vs. the 3+ hours (wire wheel and my trusty 3/8” drill) it took to do the drivers side. Made a huge mess (10’ x 12’ tarp isn’t quite big enough) but it’s well worth it!

It’s not the best quality but if you’re a hobbyist, like me, and don’t do this stuff for a living, you might check them out at the link below. The sale price isn’t listed in their online catalog. We’re lucky enough to have a Harbor Freight store here in Albuquerque and they discounted it at the register.
