Compatibility of Synch vs. Unsync Tranny's

Hi..

Looking to possibly replace a "crash box" in a B1/C3/WDX with a synchronized WM300 Tranny.. Are there any compatibility issues, parts availability issues, and would there be a better conversion than using a tranny out of a WM300?
