Diesel Possibilities?

I am contemplating putting a diesel engine in my W-500 Bus. The transmission is a Northern Products, model 420. The stamped marking shows ( C-91816). There also is (12) marked under the previously mentioned number.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what, if any, diesels would match up to this? The original engine that is in place is a Poly 318.
