Please help me with internet problem

Help, I have a non pw but internet question for anyone- MY conection to the page and postings and any web pages for that matter is REAL SLOOOOOW! I have AOL (5.0). What can I do to spped things up. Is it AOL? I have regular phone line service. I can't even access netscape (5.0) browser any longer- it just goes and goes with nothing happening. Can any one help me? Sorry that this is not a PW posting but probably others have same problems. What should I do??
