First, only the frame and heavy gauge items should be sandblasted. Many sheet products will be RUINED blasting by sand. Instead use media, ie: polymers, glass, walnut shells etc. there are different uses for each media. I have had the best luck using the 'green' polymer on guage and other body parts, and walnut shells on transmissions, transfer cases and drive train items.
When dipping parts, it is critical to remove all of the chemical. I have seen chemicals continue to 'weep' from dipped parts for weeks. It gets in between seems and connections and will eventually run out and ruin a paint job. Dipping can be done but it is a tedious operation to remove the chemical completely. I media blasted my frame and most of my Power Wagon, then powder coated many of the parts. Before color coating the parts are dipped in a cleaner and dried, still several parts had to be re-done. If I had used a paint stripper chemical the weeping damage would have been even worse.
Good luck with your project, check out many local shops before deciding upon which system to use. Look at the finished results before you decide. Even if you do-it yourself, you need to investigate like this. If the professionals are having trouble or fail to warrantee a certain proceedure you can expect that you will have the same problem, only worse.
