I have a friend who does powdercoating full time. He has a huge oven that you can roll in frames and so forth. He does a lot of race car chassis as its supposed to add some strength to it. One thing that does concern me about powder coating is I have heard the coating can get a crack and from there moisture can enter the crack and then crawl along the coating rusting away from the inside where as POR15 and some other rust type paints flex and dont get cracks or punctures. If you ever have to drill or weld or what ever you most likely will create a crack or opening into the coating. Powdercoating is also a real pain to get stripped off so make sure thats what you want to do when you do it.Any one have experience with this happening?
