Flatfender Steering Box

I recently acquired a couple of used steering boxes from flatfender Power Wagons. One has an excellent worm and bearings, but the sector is no good (many cracked and/or missing splines). The other box has an excellent sector, but the worm is not so good.

Can I mix the two good parts together, even though they come from two different used units?

I know this is not usually recommended for gears, but since the steering box operates at such slow speeds, it seems like it would be ok.

I would expect that steering adjustments might be needed more often at first, while the two parts are getting seated in with each other.

Whaddaya'll think?
