...when doing the 6V to 12V conversion, you can continue to use the 6V starter as-is (providing it worked O.K. before the conversion). According to the add for "Vintage Power Wagon's" 6V to 12V "kit" (see page 14 in the VP 2001 catalog), using the 6V starter will provide "extra cranking power." I have not heard or read of the possibility of burning it out under a 12V load.....any input would be appreciated. Bruce
