I finally on my 1974 D200 screwed a wire ground block to the inside fender with a wire to the neg on the battery and then ran wires from the block to various locat1ons inside the engine room. Heater fan ran faster. Wipers ran better and the lights and stuff just seemed brighter. Perked up everything after I did this.
I also think this was why I melted fuses in the winter if I ran the heater fan on high for a while. It would not blow the fuse but get hot on the end and melt out. Melted a little bit of the fuse box plastic also. After that I didnt have the problem anymore.
