36" super swampers

I am intrested in the radial super swamper tires for my 48pw. The manufacturer says on their web page that a 10x16 rim is to be used. Stock rim is only 6.5" Who has done this and is this a safe install? the bias of same size (Q 78-16) calls for a narrower rim. is this a better (safer)way to go? Thanks in advance for help. John
