727 trans

I want to build a 727 TF to live behind my 440 Chrysler. The engine is mostly stock and the truck is used for heavy duty towing and some off-road. It has dual Dana 70's, 4.88 gears, a NP 205, and 36-38 inch tires. I want this transmission to be absolutely reliable. Can anyone share experiences, hunches, suggestions, good ideas, bad ideas, half-a**ed ideas!? Any and all are appreciated.

This drivetrain is in a 1967 IHC pickup, please don't hold that against me!
