The truck of your Dad's is most likely a 270 Dodge poly if it's the original engine, if whoever told him about it was anywhere close. However, I would really expect it to be a 315 or 325. Takes a tape measure to tell the difference. You are correct about no 273 polys. Does it have a separate valley cover under the intake manifold?
