I'll think about synthetic when I see on the local tow trucks.
Though I talk about it with a Krupp Elevator engineer. Seems those kilometer tall towers need a couple miles of rope for each elevator. They use synthetics because of their low stretch. Could you imagine an elevator car bouncing up and down on a mile of cable?
