I don't know how it works, but when the hydraulic tank is empty, the bucket and boom stay where they are. That's no doubt a safety feature, but I'd sure hate to be stuck 60' up in the air on a fully-extended boom. Got me to thinking I should probably keep a rope in the bucket, but then I realized I don't think I could climb down a rope either. Seems like there should be some way to rig the plumbing so that even if the tank is empty or the engine quits, you can at least lower the boom.
