Eric, as I understand it, the 1/2 ton used 600x16 4 ply tires and the 3/4 ton used 650x15 truck type 6 ply tires, although I'm sure I read somewhere that some used (maybe optional) 700x15 6 ply on the rear. Either of these sizes will fit on the 5.5" rim.
