So i found some time over the holiday weekend to move my WC-12 so i can start taking the WC-4 apart.
The one thing you can't do with a non running power wagon is push it around, especially if the tires are flat!
So i dusted off the Jeep and fired up the 10500 pound Milemarker winch and pulled from several different angles and even got to use the snatch block (more to take up the rope length than for mechanical advantage).
I even had to winch inside the garage through the man door to the WC on the outside to get it where i wanted it. :)
in the 20 yr retrospect view of how i mounted and have used this winch (countless times) I really think dodge had the right idea by keeping the spool open. I have found that the one thing that happens more often than anything else, is that the rope winds up heavy to one side and rubs the mounting plate on the bottom.
I will have to figure out a way to deal with that on my next winch mount fab.
anyway now i am ready to dig into my restoration projects!!!
