Hi All,
Went on vacation for the last 2 weeks and just got home. Of course the first thing I did was to check the Forum. We didn't have a laptop with us and since the mobile app dose not work anymore I was unable to check in while I was gone.
I was quite saddened to hear of Gordon's and Don's passing. Quite a blow to the Power Wagon community. I am glad to see the PWA is going to continue under a new leadership.
We flew out to Las Vegas 2 Saturdays ago and rented a car. We put a bit over 2,000 miles on it before returning it and flying home.
We saw the Hoover Dam, Stayed at Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, Arches, Mesa Verde, Glen Canyon Dam (Lake Powell) and stopped at Dead Horse Point State Park. A couple of the parks we stayed a couple of days, others just one day. Did a lot of hiking, saw all manner of red sandstone cliffs and formations. Each park was beautiful beyond description, and each uniquely different from the rest. If you have been there you know what I mean, if you haven't, I cant recommend it enough, you have to see it to appreciate it.
Now back to reality, bummer.
