I had hoped by trying to stay with a NP tranny, we could hopefully still use the original PTO. The one problem with these military and military-styled civilian WDX-WM300 PWs is, that it was setup with a place for everything and everything in its place.
Unless something is practically redesigned,
a domino effect seems to occur with other things having to be altered. Personally, I'd have to go with the T-case setup as it would alter the least amount and allow me to keep the most original equip. including the PTO.
I wonder if anyone has ever considered making a new casting for a common PS unit that would bolt in place of our manual one? The guts would be the same except for the pitman arm output shaft which would need to be made the right lenght,size,and spline.But thats another topic.
