Hi everybody!
I guess I have too much time on my hands these days but I'm sitting here studying the wiring diagram for the WDX and I have come up with some questions I can't figure out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
1: How does the battery recieve a charge from the generator? Is it through the #10 (gauge) red wire that runs from the negative side of the ammeter to the starter switch? If so, does the starter switch have 2 poles, one to energize the motor and one to feed current back to the negative side of the battery? Or, due to the fact that it used a foot pedal as the mechanism to engage the starter, does power always flow through the switch back to the battery?
2: The diagram shows power being routed from the "B" (battery) terminal of the voltage regulator to the positive side of the ammeter (#10 {gauge} black wire), then on to the ignition switch and the light switch through the #12 (gauge) brown wires. The system is set up as a positive ground circuit, so doesn't this put the loads (lights, ignition etc.)on the same side of the circuit as the ground? This would seem to result in no current flow but, obviously I am no electrical genius!! So help me out here, guys. Somebody enlighten me!
Dave
