Me too in the past. This was a little beyond that. Soaked everything in the "good old" Chem-Dip, blew everything out with carb cleaner and compressed air, still a lot of varnish on some parts, which are currently soaking in straight methylene chloride. I want this one done right. I can put up with rough running and low power on the M37 I just used for hauling tools around and getting firewood down out of the hills, but I don't want to be 10 miles out in the SnoCat in the dead of winter and have some left-over piece of gunk clog a jet.
I finally did get the vent tube out, by drilling out a piece of thin stainless tubing to .093, pressing it down over the vent tube and wiggling gently with kroil in it until it came out. Glad I got it out too because it was as gunked up as everything else.
