I believe the 392 hemi of the late 50s shares some parts with the poly 318 such as flywheel,timing chain.It sounds like maybe all the early hemi's and OHV V-8s of the 50s might have the same eng. to bellhousing bolt pattern. Even a LA-318 will bolt to the universal 60s bellhousing but must use the older starter. If the hemi heads would just work and fit on the LA-318,boy would that be great. But does the early 50s hemi's under 334 cu.in. have as much hp as a LA-318 or 360?
