As for oil, I use 15W40 CD/CF Diesel stuff. Any C_ grade oil is a better quality than regular S_ stuff.
As for the legroom problem, let me know what you come up with. I'm 6'2" tall and have just enough room to use the clutch, a friend of mine can't drive it because of his knee hitting the window crank. I have heard of people taking a few inches out of the seat riser to cure this problem and the problem of not being able to see through the roof canvas and wiper motor. I'm considering this myself, but I currently drive my truck infrequently enough that it really isn't a problem for me.
