Dave & all the crew at VPW worked OVERTIME so all of us could have a GREAT time !!! Bit of rain on Thursday morn, otherwise very nice.
93 registered trucks, 76 POWER WAGONS were at the square & brought 150 +/- folks with them from all over.
TOWNIES RULE - "Best W-Series" & "Best of Show" both went to Bobby J's '64 TW with 318A. This Townie was BEAUTIFUL !!! Every detail you could imagine, right down to all stickers for the engine - amazing. And he DROVE to the rally !!!
Kevin G's '64 W100 TW with 318LA got one of two "brass balls" awards for front axle replacement after some four wheelin' snapped the passenger-side front axle housing at the knuckle.
"Most Unusual PW" was Kirk & Wesley's '55 POWER WAGON with a Stewart "SafteyMaster" body. Orginally set up as a school bus, it is the 11th known POWER WAGON school bus to exist. Very cool !!!
I'll get a website together. With my new Cannon Digital Elph S300, I captured 500+ pics & several video clips on ONE 96 MB "CompactFlash" card !!! The camera is very compact & easy to use. Hopefully, pics came out OK & I can share the 2001 VPW Rally with all. Be patient, it'll take me to the end of June.
Cheers, JB
