The most thought provoking idea I've heard in 28 years of owning these trucks is that the long stroke allows each crank throw to act as an oil pump.This permits #'s 2 thru 5 to suck all oil out of #1 & #6, causing these 2 rod bearings to be the first to go. The fix would be to restrict the oil ports in the crank at the #2-#5 rods. All you got to lose is #2-#5 rods.Why don't you try it first, cvall me in 100,000 miles to let me know if it helped.

Otherwise, portmatch is free horsepower, do it yourself with a die grinder, find the "full circle"(?) wrist pin clips- they go 2 turns around the hole (like a little coil spring), they're a bitch to get out but supposed to last a gazillion miles.
