I used to see cars coming through the desert with evaporative coolers hanging out the window during the late 50's.

Those old units go for about $600 now in good shape.

I went to a garage sale and a guy had a NOS 6 volt evaporative cooler that was designed to sit on the transmission tunnel.

I went back again a few weeks later and it was still there. When I went back a third time, I had decided to get it. It was gone. I do a lot of stupid things.
