You can't use a paper element in the oil bath housing without extensive modification. You must use oil in the oil bath cleaner. 30W is a good weight to use. You must service the oil bath filter regularly. I have serviced the filter on my '56 DeSoto every 30 years. (Not recommended!) The paper element breathes free-er when clean, it weighs less, and probably filters as well or better than the oil bath.
