Usually when the steering box brace makes that big of a difference, your steering box is worn out. Don't get me wrong, those braces are excellent...in fact the local steering box re manufacturer here will warranty his new boxes for 1 year but if you install a brace, he'll warranty them for 5 year.
The brace might make yours live a bit longer though.
