Yes and no. The trick is to do one thing at a time. Get the coil, and then if everything works correctly, go electronic if you really feel the need. Never change two things at once. If something does not work, you then have to figure out which one of the things you did at the same time that was the cause.
Personally, I think electronic ignition parts are going to be harder to diagnose when something goes wrong. Stick with original parts and the next time this happens to your truck, you will be able to fix it in the middle of nowhere, in a blinding snowstorm, with nothing but a matchbook. No need to add additional complexity.
