I have some silver certificates. There was a time when you could go to the bank and request silver in exchange. But several years ago they withdrew that option. Now they are probably worth $1.50 to a collector. I have some federal reserve notes from the '20s and '30s. They are only worth a couple of dollars more than the face value.
