I also heard of a fella that would put a few capfulls of water soluable oil, (like the cutting oil that machine shops use) into his radiator after a cleaning or flush. He claims to have never needed to replace a water pump because of this method. He said besides lubricating the water pump, it also helped to keep the rust to a minimum. I haven't heard of anyone else doing this but it sounds reasonable. Do not use regular motor oil for this, it has to be water soluable.
