Look at what places in this country have near-bans on lawful gun ownership, like Chicago. What has that done to their rate of violent crime? Nothing. Meanwhile here in Idaho almost everyone has guns and nobody shoots anyone (except stupid hunting accidents). In the whole time I've lived here, I think our county has had 3 murders. Two were drunken spouse fights where knives were used, and one involved two groups of stupid teenagers who were into drugs and used a .22 pistol.
I don't know if those violent video games MAKE kids violent or it's just that their popularity shows that a lot of kids are seething with violent impulses. Either one is troubling. To me, there's just something wrong with any kid who would rather sit in his room and play Halo than go out and build a tree for or work on his old truck.
