I have a friend in Iowa that built a new shop for his service station, he installed tubing in his slab prior to placing concrete for the foundation. He has a oil burner that burns used oil he collects from oil changes through the year and heats the water that circulates through the slab. It takes about two weeks for the slab to warm so he starts heating in the fall, but when you are on your back under equipment it is warm on your back and the warmth rises and warms the entire shop. The initial cost was pricey but basically heats the building for free, return on investment noticed immediately. If you concrete a section you can work on, the heat should chase out the moisture on the balance of the building.
