That's the way it usually works out. That's why you go around with a voltmeter and check the voltage drop across each connection until you find the bad one, rather than replacing and cleaning (over and over) everything until you get lucky. You wouldn't try to fix an oil drip by replacing every seal and gasket in the engine, but that's exactly the approach a lot of guys take to electrical stuff. Much better to find out where the problem is and then fix that specific problem.
