All 1946 to 1968 WDX-WM300 factory equipped with front winch and/or rear tail shaft used a dual output pto (front and rear outputs on same pto). In other words, with a factory pto no reversal required because they are set up to be used either way, front or back, and even to both directions at once. If you are referring to an after market pto with a single output shaft, some can be reversed, some cannot. Factory pto's very between the different trannys used. Best to use the one meant for a given transmission although if you absolutly need to, pto gears can be changed and spacers used.
