will late series synchromesh tranny, 1957 flat fender

Need to know if synchromesh tranny found on 1957 flat fender with 230 motor fit on a 1949 flat fender with 230 motor, bell housing same size etc, thank you eric. Also will pto with rear drive set up reverse for front set up.
