No, the mounting holes for the 57 and later (syncronized) transmission are in a slightly different locat1on from the early spur gear type transmissions. You will also need the bellhousing from a later truck and the center floorboard. There may also be some other things involved in the swap that
I'm sure someone more qualified I will point out. I'm not too this point in my restoration , but plan on doing the same swap on my 49 when I put the motor and transmission back in this spring.
