Just a correction if you have the proper m-37 gas cap it's vented infact it's printed on the cap VALVE INSIDE,OPEN NORMAL,CLOSED FORDING it's a little twist valve located in the little cup on the inside of the gas cap make sure it's open( it will be obvious when you twist it).If it's closed then It can do as Dave stated. Dirty fuel filter has always been my 37's problem which is sad because I clean fuel tanks ( on yachts) for a living (I'll clean it one day). I did have the wrong condenser once also.
