JOHN: SOUNDS LIKE FUEL TANK VENT MAY BE PLUGGED.
THERE IS A STEEL LINE THAT RUNS FROM THE FUEL TANK
TO THE ELBOW BETWEEN THE CARB. AND THE AIR CLEANER.
ITS PART OF THE FORDING SYSTEM, IF ITS PLUGED OR
REMOVED AND CAPPED IT WON'T LET THE TANK VENT, SO
IT BUILDS A VACUUM TO THE POINT ITS GREATER THAT
THE FUEL PUMP WON'T PUMP FUEL TO THE CARB., THEN
BUY SETTING A WHILE THE VACUUM BLEADS OFF AND THE
PUMP WILL NOW PUMP FUEL TO THE CARB..
TRY RUNNING IT WITH THE FILLER CAP OFF OR LOSE IF
IT WON'T FALL OFF,JUST TO SEE IF THATS THE PROBLEM.
ALSO CHECK TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NOTHING FLOATING
IN THE TANK THAT MAY BLOCK THE PICKUP TUBE. DAVET CAN VENT. TO SEE IF THERE IS A STEEL LINE
