If it changes with mild revving, or goes away when you suddenly let off, it's a rod knock.

You also might try unhooking one plug wire at a time. If it's one cylinder, it's a rod knock.


If you pull the wires from the dist, not the plug, you probably won't get fibrillated. As much.
