you have about 1 and 7|8s in. room inside the wheel to move out where the drum will be, at this point you will need to burn plus or minus 5|16s off the outside diameter of the ear on the drum in order for it to fit in this area of the wheel, anymore and you will hit a ridge in the wheel
my 900's as is are 1 in. outside the stock wheel face, so if you move say 1 3|4s
you would end up with 1 1|2 in. between the tires and 10 in. from wheel centers to outside of the rim
I bought a 57 oil field wm once that came with this set up, if memory serve me there was only one inch between the tires so they only moved the centers out 1 1|2 in., allowing you to burn a tad less off the drum, which gives you 9 3|4s from center to outside of wheel
I drove the truck like this for plus or minus three years until someone stole it
I always wondered if turning the ear on the drum down affected the integrity of the drum, the experts may or may not chime in on this, but I never had a problem
however the duals came off the oil field parts truck, the frame was cracked and so was the spindle, no telling how much they overloaded it, I ran them on my 47 wdx flatbead I restored and was very happy with them
