Years ago during the first winter after I had moved to Anchorage, I was making a left turn on Ft. Richardson when a woman who was going to make a right turn onto the street I was leaving, had to heavy of a foot on the brake pedal. Result, instead of turning, her car slid straight hitting the left rear corner of the bumper on my PW while I was making my turn. Now the bumper on my truck is made out of a piece of 10 inch I beam which goes accross the back and turns on each side and stops near the rear fenders.
Damage report, scratched paint on the PW's bumper. The womans car, broken left front headlight assembly, messed up left front quarter panel, and some misc. other things.
