You can get a u joint from Borgeson,Flaming River or one from Paul's source. You can get a 3/4 36 spline X DD and just grind a flat spot on both sides of the shaft,or get a 3/4 36 x 3/4 round and weld it on the shaft side or drill it and pin/bolt it on.

This is assuming it is the same size as on your d300. Of course there are MANY sizes and styles to choose from.
