Yes, they must have a load when run for extended periods. I turn on every light in all buildings. I have (2) 4000 watt electric wall units with blowers. I am trying to figure a way to mount them in the power house, with shutters blowing outside, to come on when the Genset fires up to give me a 8K watt load. I can shut them off if I want more available power.
