FOrged U Bolts can be purchased with square tops, but they are very expensive. If you want ot order some, click on my link below, scroll down to the Axle U Bolt Album. The Data sheets from the manufacturer is there.

I would run fast from a local blacksmith. You need high strength 'graded' U Bolts. His will be unknown.
I just buy U Bolts from the spring shop, do a small radius on the plate on top of the spring edges to get 100% U Bolt Contact. Re torque after a 100 miles or so and check again at 500 and your good to go for little money.
Never, Never re-use a Axle U bolt after you torque it. The deep nuts dis form the threads on the U Bolt and you will not be able to get proper torque on a re-use. You can read about that also on the Axle U Bolt Album Tech Sheet.
