I don't see how they could scam you that way. Without your paypal password, they can't change your bank account info, and if they send you the (bogus) money via paypal, you can wait until paypal tells you it cleared before paying their "shipper" or whatever they want you to do.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the only harm I can see is that they could use your paypal address when fraudulently trying to buy something from somebody else, and then when you don't pay it, the duped buyer could sic paypal on you and you'd have to try to explain and untangle it all.

When I get obvious scammers wanting to do business with me in some way or another, I usually write back and tell them that due to some bad experience with foreign currencies, we are now requiring that all merchandise be paid for in advance via gold coin of reputable mint delivered to our offices before anything can be shipped.
