I'd stop where your at and let it sit a few days since it sounds like its aready full of oil. Before you attempt to turn it over drain all the oil from the pan into a 5 gallon bucket.
My opinion is it time to remove the head as its only a 30 minute job. Once the head is off you can use a piece of wood on top of the piston and pound the piston downward. This usually will free it up id not its has more problems elsewhere. You can also free up all the stuck valves at the same time.
If your serious about running this engine you have to be prepared to use more than blind luck.
