It takes about 1.1 fluid ounces to fill a cubic inch. That would give you, roughly, about 125 fluid ounces. Divided by 32 ounces in a quart, would give you about 4 quarts, or one gallon. Right?
Where did the other three gallons go? Or, did you mean quarts?
You should only need a few ounces of oil in each cylinder to cover the pistons.
