The thought had occured to me. Maybe make a plate with the reviever welded to it and put that on the inside coming out through the hole. Then you could bolt a plate on the front side and weld it to the reciver.
Or just weld a flange on the reciever tube that the front plate would sit against, that way it would be removable.
Also looked at bolting welding a setup to the bottom of the crossmember too.
In the end I went this way because all the welding for those ideas is much more critical than for the setup I used.
Plus it's centered on the frame which the pintle hook holes are not.
This doesn't look as clean but the wrecker bed has a rear valance pannel which will cover most of this anyway.
Plus with the 4BT and all the upgrades she should be able to pull a house down.
